Leslie Karakas passed away on September 14, 2024, at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 88.
A special thank you to the staff of St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 24, 2024, at 603 Wellington Crescent (First Universalist Church of Winnipeg).

Over 30 years of friendship and memories. When I think of Les, I think of all the good times we spent at each other's home. We enjoyed sharing meals, card games, a glass of wine here and there. We met for breakfast on a regular basis, went across the border, Las Vegas, Cuba, etc. He loved dancing and it was a pleasure to have the odd dance with him. He was a caring, generous person who was always ready to give a helping hand. We had so many phone conversations throughout the years. He was a good listener, ready to give advice, if requested, but never judging. A true friend who will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in peace, my friend.
