BLAIR STEVEN ROBILLARD

Northstar Man, Bear Clan

February 25, 1958 -

September 16, 2024

Blair passed away too soon but he has gone to join his beloved paternal and maternal grandparents and Aunty Flo. He leaves behind his dad, Ron, mother, Grace, brothers, Craig (Deb) and Wade (Susan), daughters, Adrea, Sacha, Kassin (Chad), and Genevieve (Branden), and the grandchildren who filled his heart with joy: Sophia, Grayson, Lily, and Sam.

As a young man, Blair found a great love and respect for Aboriginal peoples. He worked very hard all his life to promote both their teachings and an understanding. He taught Aboriginal games all over Manitoba, wrote the book “Playing with Great Heart,” and was given the Innovation in Teaching award from the University of Manitoba.

Blair loved the people unconditionally and with gusto. He was a true servant of the people - an ogichidaa (warrior) and oscaabaywis (helper). He was a Sundancer and a kind, gentle teacher.

To all the wonderful people who visited and called him while he was being looked after by the unbelievably kind people at the Selkirk Regional Hospital: THANK YOU! MIGWECH!

No formal funeral will be held, a Chibi ceremony has been held to send him on his journey.

Northstar Man: He returns to the stars, guiding the way for us from above

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • What an honor to know your Dad. He spoke from his gigantic heart and soul. I wish I would have know he was on palliative care so I could have visited him one More time, to tell him I cared about him and his messages. It would be great to touch base with one of his daughters (sorry one worked at one insurance and I can’t remember your name) and connect about Blair. You were all very fortunate to have him in your life as was I and man, many others! - Posted by: Darla Armstrong (I hope he would consider me a friend ) on: Nov 02, 2024

  • My deepest condolences to Ron & Grace and his brothers Craig & Wade and their spouses, Blair's wonderful daughters who were there to support him. He will be missed. Trees to be planted in memory of Blair. - Posted by: willa mclaughlin (aunt) on: Sep 22, 2024
