Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • We met in high school. Reconnected many years later. We would instant messenger a bunch of times on Facebook. Even have video chats. I was glad to hear of her faith in Jesus. And her love of God. I know she's in Heaven. It will be great to see her again in the Rapture when Jesus returns soon. Prayers for the family. ❤️ DL California - Posted by: Daryl L (High school friend) on: Apr 12, 2025

  • We are so sad to learn of Dona's passing. She was by far the best Social Worker we ever came across, and there were many. Dona was there for us so many times, in her work with our disabled daughter. We will never forget that Dona arranged a life-saving program for our daughter to attend in the US, something never done before, in Manitoba. When we were turned down for this, Dona told us not to despair. Her words were "When I hear the answer No, it's never the end. It just means we need to have further conversations." We are proud to have known Dona....the world was a better place for having had her in it. Our sincere condolences to her loved ones. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Pat and Rick Johnson (Dona was our daughter's Social Worker many years ago.) on: Sep 28, 2024

  • Dona always brought an energy to everything she did, her passion for helping people, her advocacy for animals, her wonderful singing voice, and her artistic flare. Anat, she loved you so much, you two were made for each other. She will be missed and remembered by all who knew her. Hugs to you, and to both of your families. - Posted by: Gail (Hoddinott) Gregoire (Coworker and friend) on: Sep 26, 2024

  • I was one of the lucky ones to share the cubicle with Dona at 1050 Leila. We exercised together lunch time with other cubicle members, shared stories, laughter and birthdays in September . Dona ‘s smile was and will always be radiant . Glad to have shared my work life journey with you even though if it was short . Your courage is an inspiration. My deepest condolences and prayers to Anet and family . 🙏🏽❤️ - Posted by: Pavan (Friend, coworker at Leila office ) on: Sep 26, 2024

  • Anat - sending my love and condolences as you mourn the death of Dona. She was a fighter as she overcame and lived with her health challenges. It was always a pleasure to have a conversation with her. Even when she had another curve ball to deal with, she was upbeat, caring about others and lifting those around her up. I cherish the times I had with her. Love always, Irma - Posted by: Irma Nadeau (Friend) on: Sep 25, 2024

  • I had the privilege of sitting close to Dona in “cubicle world” at 1050 Leila. You can tell a lot about a person as they speak to others on the telephone. I quickly surmised that Dona was someone intelligent, sweet, fun, knowledgeable, and witty! Someone I would want to know! We became friends…work friends are forever friends! Fast forward to a gathering at Dona and Anet’s with games, good eats, beverages, karaoke, and laughter until your stomach hurt. Truly one of my best memories! Hard to believe, but Dona was even more fun than I ever knew! We bonded over singing! She looked me in the eyes and told me I had the voice of an angel, when in actuality it was Dona who had the heavenly voice! I’m sure she’s singing in God’s choir right now! I so admired her strength through her health challenges! Through all of her challenges, I heard that very unique voice and those giant eyes, all bringing comfort to me. I adored Dona! Wishing Anet and Dona’s family my sincere condolences. I wish it didn’t have to be! 💜 - Posted by: Sue Sydorchuk (Former coworker ) on: Sep 25, 2024
