It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, June Grayson, on September 25, 2024. Mom passed peacefully in the comfort of her own home.
Moms’ memory is cherished forever by her children, Rick (Darlene) and Lisa; grandchildren Bryce (Richelle), Kyle (Danielle), Tyler, Kelsey (Doug), Grant (Thomas) and Hailey (Cynthia) as well as six great-grandchildren; brother Bill; special niece Lynn Linklater and her daughter Tammy Rakar.
Mom was born in Stonewall where she continued to live until her passing. She married Dad, Richard Grayson, March 9, 1963 and celebrated 60 years together before his passing last year. Mom worked beside Dad in his business ventures but her passions were more earthy and artistic. She was a beautiful seamstress in her day and enjoyed crafting. Reading was a favorite pastime but come early spring she was proud to be part of “the garden girls” where gardening and socializing grew deep roots. As time moved on their trips to the warm south in the winter turned into trips to the hockey rink to watch the grand and great grandchildren on the ice. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren had a very special place in her heart. Mom always had a smile for family and friends, even in her last days.
A special thank-you to Dr. Graham for your care over the years and most importantly your patience, compassion and understanding towards the end. Mom got her wish and passed at home. We are forever grateful. The care team between Stonewall Hospital, our care coordinator, home and palliative care and the IERHA were exceptional. We cannot thank-you enough.
Cremation has already taken place. Internment will take place next year and Mom and Dad will be buried together. Mom, I know you are happy in heaven and laughing with Dad. You are finally free.
If you so wish, donations can be made to the Interlake Foundation or a charity of your choice.
