PATRICIA MARY ROSE HUNT

(HAMATA)

May 2, 1938 - October 3, 2024

After a long life full of blessings and challenges, Pat Hunt passed away on October 3, 2024, at the age of 86.

She will be lovingly remembered by her five sons - Terry (Therasa), Tom (Nina), Larry (Lorry), Rick (Tracey) and Joel (Karel), nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with a fourth who will miss meeting her. She also leaves to mourn many long-time friends and relatives. Pat was predeceased by her husband Geo (George), her brother Jerry and her parents, Joseph and Mary Hamata.

Pat spent most of her life in Elmwood, growing up on Chalmers Avenue and, after marrying Geo, raising a family on Noble Avenue. She was a loving daughter who cared for her parents and proudly celebrated her Czech heritage. She was an active community volunteer. She devoted much time and energy to the parish of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She was a wonderful mom to her sons and, at times, to their friends as well. She worked at a variety of jobs over the years.

Pat loved a good party, big or small. She was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends, with a drink in her hand and music in the background. Among the interests they shared, she and Geo enjoyed camping, first with the boys and then later on their own at Camp Rusalka on Lake Winnipeg. After Geo retired they travelled further afield, often with family or friends, and enjoyed that very much as well.

In later years, after Geo passed, Pat faced some serious health issues, but she never lost her love of life or the pleasure that being around people brought her. Donwood Manor was her home for the past 15 years, and the family is grateful for the respect and care the staff there always gave her.

Memorial service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow the service.
