Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALLAN DAVID DOUGLAS
Peacefully and surrounded by the love of his family, Allan David Douglas, 75, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on October 2, 2024.
Allan is survived by his devoted wife, two sons, two daughters-in-law, and the light of his life, his two precious granddaughters who he lovingly referred to as his “Cutie Petutie” and his “Little Rascal”. He is also survived by two very special granddogs who he loved to care for and spoil with treats. Also left to mourn his loss are his two brothers, his sister, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and many nephews and nieces.
Allan was born in Fort Frances, ON and moved to Winnipeg at age 21. A year later he married his one true love and together they built a wonderful life raising their two sons. He was a wonderful husband for 53 years and his wife was his entire world. He enjoyed hockey, football, golf and spending quality time with his family and many friends. His greatest joy was coaching his two boys or playing a round of golf with them. Allan also worked at Manitoba Public Insurance for over 40 years where he made many lifelong friends.
Although Allan fought with many health issues for much of his life, he remained patient, kind and never uttered a word of complaint about his situation. A stronger man will not be found. He loved his family more than words can say and expressed his love in his own gentle, unassuming way.
Our family would like to sincerely thank Dr. VanJaarsveldt, who looked after Allan for many years with compassion, expertise and humour; as well as Ellen and the entire staff at Pembina Medical Clinic. We would also like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital, 6E, for their excellent care, as well as the many specialists who cared for Allan over the years
A celebration of Allan’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Seasons Funeral Chapel, 576 Balsam Crescent in Oakbank, Manitoba. For those that wish to join via livestream please visit Allan's memorial page at seasonsfunerals.com and click on the Photos and Videos Tab.

I enjoyed working with the Dr. so much! . At first Al was just a supervisor but then we grew a friendship. He always shared stories of his family he was so proud of his boys. He would always talk about his lovely wife as well. Truly a one upstanding man. So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Cassandra Rwmillard (Co-worker and friend) on: Oct 16, 2024

Dear Douglas Family , Ken and I knew Allan from years ago. On occassion it was nice to see Shelley and Allan and their two boys. Many times ken and I have bumped into one of the Douglas members of the family. We are so sad to hear the passing of your husband Allan Shelley and how everyone in your family will miss their Father and grandfather and father in law. Allan was a very quiet man when I knew him at family gatherings. A very kind and loving man to his family . We are praying 🙏🙏 for all of you at this time to get through this difficult time. God bless and Take care of yourselves .... - Posted by: Susan and Ken Barchuk (Acquaintance friend ) on: Oct 13, 2024
