It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Albert Frank Stangl, on Monday, October 14, 2024 at the age of 92.
He is predeceased by his wife Mary Stangl (Moroz); parents, Lorenz and Rose Stangl; brothers, George and Willard; daughters, Darlene Onofrey (Jerry) and Rozina Cran; grandson Dale Enns, as well as his long time friend Joyce Semenchuk.
He is survived by his sister Doris; children, Clarence (Rhonda), Brenda and Shirley (Paul); grandchildren, Jennifer, Raymond (Meghan), Nicole (Shaun), Brandy (Michael), Dallas (Breanna) and Sara (Josh); great-grandchildren, Sullivan, Claire and Jacob.
Albert was born on May 16, 1932 on his parents homestead in Rockglen, Saskatchewan. When he was a young teenager he moved to Manitoba with his family where they started a new farm. When Albert was 22 years old he married his wife Mary and they started their family. Six years later in 1960 he started his own business, Planet Construction. Planet became a family business when he was joined by his brother-in-law Henry, and later his son Clarence, who eventually took over the company when Albert retired. Many nephews, sons-in-law and even grandsons all worked for Planet over the years. Alberta always took great pride in his company and everyone who knew him, knew of his strong work ethic. Both Albert and Mary were active members of their church and community in St. Andrews where they raised their family. Albert was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
In his retirement, Albert enjoyed traveling the world, visiting family all over Canada and in Germany, as well as seeing new places such as Russia, China, New Zealand and Australia, among others.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Home for the exemplary care and attention given to Albert in his final years.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba.

We would like to offer our sincere sympathy to all of Albert’s family. We know how much he was loved and what an amazing person he was. We have so many wonderful memories of Albert and Mary hosting any of the Saskatchewan family and friends when they would come to Winnipeg. You were always welcome at their home. Wayne will always remember working for Albert and staying with them when he would go to Winnipeg during the summer when he was going to university. So many wonderful times. Sincere condolences from Sharon and Wayne Stangl - Posted by: Wayne and Sharon Stangl (Cousin) on: Oct 21, 2024
