BARBARA ANN DUNN

Peacefully on October 8th at Riverview, Barbara Ann Dunn passed away at 81 from Covid. She was born in Winnipeg in 1943 to Joseph and Kathleen Drabik. She will be missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Blake; daughters, Karen Bartlett (Ray) and Jacqueline Brisley (Ian); and grandsons, Ryan, and Matthew.

She lived 44 years in Fort Richmond, where she raised her family. She enjoyed summers camping at the lake, winters cheering for the Jets, and travelling. Barb loved animals, she had dogs, birds, cats, and enjoyed seeing deer at the lake or on drives. She loved Paris and the Eiffel Tower and visited twice.

In her youth she enjoyed Teen Dance Party on CJAY, Young United Youth Group, and was a majorette at Tec-Voc. She had a wicked sense of humour and always spoke her mind!

For the last three years she received amazing care at Riverview PCH. Rachel and Sheldon were her particular favourites, sharing laughter and jokes with them. Our family thanks everyone at Riverview for making Barb’s time there so happy and comfortable. We admire Dad’s dedication and love throughout their lives together, he was always by her side.

We are grateful for our time with her, for her humour, and her loving spirit…and the best homemade chocolate icing ever!

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society in Barb’s name would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place, and there will be a celebration of life in the spring.
