Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARCEL JOSEPH PAUL LANDRY
In loving memory of Marcel Landry, who passed away in Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 88 years, on October 19, 2024.
He leaves behind his children, Daniel (Sharlene) and Jo-Anne, grandchildren, Tia (Scott), Justin (Taylor), Cody (Taylor), Marc, and Chase. He also leaves behind his sisters, Marguerite and Vivian (Vern), and brother Eugene. Marcel will also be missed by the Paradis family, and many relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Flora and Theodule, his siblings, Germaine, Roger, Laurette, Lucien, Marie Anne, Cecile, Marie Rose, Jean, Paul, and Lorraine, his dog Spike, and his beloved wife of 50 years, Jeannine Landry.
Marcel grew up in southeastern Saskatchewan on a farm. He briefly farmed on his own, but left to see the world when he joined the military in the late 1950s. He served his country for four years overseas in Germany and was released with an honourable discharge. Upon his return to Canada, he moved to Winnipeg. Shortly after that, he met and married the love of his life Jeannine. After a few odd jobs, he began repairing cameras. This job would later launch his career as a business owner of Precision Camera Repair for many years until his retirement. Other work included cab driver to many hockey games, dance recitals and figure skating practices. He always said his favourite job was that of a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Before his eyesight started to fail, he loved photography, gardening, and wood carving. In his later years in life, his grandchildren provided him with a feeling of happiness that he would speak of to anyone who would listen with extreme pride. We are all blessed to have known such a strong willed and dedicated man.
The funeral service for Marcel will be held at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 778 Archibald St. at 2:00 p.m. on November 5, 2024. A private interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the CNIB Manitoba (www.cnib.ca), or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba (www.heartandstroke.ca).
