I first met Martha and John at River East Mennonite Brethren Church. They befriended me, and when I invited them for Sunday lunch we had heart-warming conversations. When she and John were diagnosed with PD, they made a very sensible move to assisted living. They agreed that that had been a relief for them both. They were very clear about their biblical faith in Jesus Christ. My prayers are for John, their family. That they will continue to follow the Lord faithfully. - Posted by: Susan Popkes (friend) on: Nov 03, 2024

Heartfelt sympathy to all of Martha’s family. We were close neighbors when they lived near Riverton. Martha’s daughters were caring caregivers for our daughters & we sure missed them when they moved away. I can still hear her beautiful voice. Rest In Peace Martha. You deserve it. My condolences to Martha’s family. John and Martha were so kind to our family during their years in Riverton. Although they were a young couple with a young family they always made sure to pick us up for church on Sundays. They were extremely kind to Mom. I have fond memories of being in the choir and spending time with their young children. Rest in Peace Martha. Winnifred (Hjorleifson) - Posted by: Winnifred (Friend ) on: Oct 26, 2024

So sorry to hear of Martha’s passing. Memories of John and Martha go back as long as I remember. She was a great friend to Mom, an amazing choir leader and piano teacher to both me and my sister. I can never hear “They will know we are Christians by our love” without thinking of Martha. That song sums up Martha to a tee. Deepest to all.
