It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Walter Geres at the St. Boniface Hospital, October 25, 2024, at 97, after a brief illness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bernice, of 72 years. Also left to mourn his passing are his children, Debbie, Judy, Susan, Janice, and David. Dad also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Dad was a loving, caring husband, father, and grandfather. Dad lived a quiet but happy life for the last several years, he still enjoyed their sunny balcony in the summer, with the occasional Rum and Coke, his word search, and crossword puzzles. He had a lot of great stories from his farming days, especially how his team of horses always got them home safely, no matter how bad the winter storm.
As per Dad's wishes, Cremation has taken place, and no service will be held. We will celebrate his life in our hearts always. “Love and miss you Dad.”

My older sister (Lyda) was a great friend if Bernice's when they were very young living on their farms near Langenburg, SK. They remained friends to thus day. Over the years we visited Bernice and Walter here in Wpg. They were the most gracious hosts and the STORIES from way back. I loved hearing all the stories they had.
