D. LYLE THOMAS ARNOTT

May 17, 1955 - October 25, 2024

Lyle Arnott peacefully passed at the Grace Hospital on Monday, October 25, 2024, with his family and best pup (Jet) by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by all his family and friends.

Lyle spent his childhood moving and living abroad, as he was raised in a military family. Lyle’s family called Winnipeg home in his teenage years where he met his first wife of 35 years, Pat and they had their boys, Rob (Karen) and Adam (Corinne). Lyle was a family man and raised his kids in the hockey rink and loved coaching them along the way.

His favourite activities quickly turned to spending time at the family cottage on Macara Lake, where he would enjoy fishing, boat rides and snowmobiling.

While Pat passed away in 2011, Lyle continued being a devoted father and business owner. In 2017, a dear friend of Lyle’s introduced him to Allison. They married in 2018, where Lyle became a stepfather to David (Julie) and Matthew. Lyle and Allison made their home LaSalle, where he became an active member of the community. He especially enjoyed being the Marshall for the Ladies golf leagues at Kingswood Golf & Country Club.

Lyle was a remarkable man in many ways. Behind his tough exterior and stubbornness he had a gentle side, especially for his grandchildren (Lucas, Heidi and Emilie). Everyone who knew him is proud to call him our Husband, Father, Gumpa, Grandpa, Brother, Brother-In-Law and Friend. His profound friendliness will be missed by everyone who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Kingswood Golf & Country Club (28 MB-247, LaSalle MB) on Thursday, November 21 at 11:00 a.m.

Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 300 – 55 St. Clair Ave. W., Toronto, ON M4V 2Y7.

Thank you to all the doctors and staff at the Grace Hospital ICU for their care and compassion during his stay.

  • Lyle will be missed by his Ingolf family. Lyle was very kind and helpful when our dad, Stan Walker was ill. We will miss him cruising by on the pontoon boat. Always had a wave and a smile for all - Posted by: Patti Tomlinson (Neighbour ) on: Nov 10, 2024

  • Lyle was our friend and neighbour and we’re very sad to hear about his passing. We watched as the boys grew into men and were equally sad when Pat passed away. It’s said that you can’t pick your neighbors but the Arnott’s were the best neighbours and friends, anybody could have. You’ll be sorely missed.
