With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Antonia Torquato on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the age of 93.
Antonia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francesco Torquato; her parents, Saverio and Carolina Colosimo, her two sons, Gianfranco and Saverio Torquato; and her son-in-law, Salvatore Curcio.
Antonia is survived by her daughter, Saveria Curcio; her grandchildren, Maria Curcio (Gianni Tuzi) and Giovanni Curcio (Daniela); her great-grandchildren, Luca and Sophia Curcio, siblings, Giuseppe, Vittoria, Luigi and numerous other family members in Winnipeg and Italy.
Born in San Mango D’Aquino, Italy, Antonia met and married Francesco and welcomed their three children before immigrating to Canada in 1968. She carried with her a deep love for family, tradition, and resilience. She created a warm and welcoming home filled with love. She found joy in caring for her children and her grandchildren, and spending time with friends and family.
Antonia’s legacy of love, family, and faith will continue in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but not forgotten.
We'd like to thank The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre for all the care and support they provided for Nonna for the past nine years.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday November 14, 2024, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Viewing and condolences will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Saul and Clarabel Simkin Centre, 1 Falcon Ridge Dr, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3Y 1V9.

Antonuzza was lovely sweeet kind and generous lady.. I remember her always with a smile and always bringing delicious xmas treats to my brother-in-law's house..
