NATALIE MARIE BYRNE
Peacefully on November 26, 2024, Natalie passed away at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years John, in February 2021. Her memory will be forever cherished by her sons, Michael (Nancy) of Oak Bluff, Manitoba and Patrick of Toronto, Ontario.
Natalie was born and raised in Winnipeg. During her youth, Natalie attended Faraday School and, later, St. John’s High School. Following high school, Natalie was employed in administration in the engineering department at Deer Lodge Hospital and took great pride in her work. She particularly enjoyed working with those around her and making new connections and friendships. In 1981, together with her husband John, they started their own company specializing in emergency power sales and service. By 1996, Natalie and John finally decided to put their working days in the rearview mirror and retire.
Natalie was a lifelong member and supporter of St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Winnipeg. She enjoyed spending her summer days tending to her vast garden and her many flowerbeds. Keeping a meticulous house and yard was very important to her. During the summer months, Natalie was an avid supporter of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and would never miss a Canadian Football League game. She remained a passionate fan right until the end of her life.
Natalie took immense pride and joy in spending time with her daughter-in-law Nancy. Getting to know Nancy – and her entire family – was important to Natalie as she felt a very strong connection. The generosity extended to Natalie by Nancy and her family is not lost on anyone who had the opportunity to witness it. Words cannot describe the pure love Natalie had for Nancy.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Courtyards at Linden Pointe for making Natalie feel very much at home when she moved there in 2023. Special thanks are extended to Kim who was a very special med tech for Natalie - everything that you did for Natalie will never be forgotten. The family would also like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Concordia Hospital who cared for Natalie during her final days.
Prayers will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 3, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.

It was joy to get to Natalie, her pretty smile, her stories, just talking with her and being able to get to know her likes and dislikes, bringing her coffee and a muffin for afternoon snack, taking her to listen to music or different activities when she was up to it, forever in my heart and will be missed but not forgotten - Posted by: Kimberly (Med tech and resident assistant at Courtyards lindenpoint) on: Dec 01, 2024
