Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGAIL LOUISE BROWN
It is with profound sadness that the family of Gail Louise Brown announce her passing on November 30, 2024, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Gail was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 19 years, Calum Morrison; her son, Jeffrey Rempel (Nicole Grabowsky); her granddaughter, Kelly Rempel; her daughter, Jennifer Rempel (Philip Galbraith); her brothers, Fred Brown (Paula Olko) and Morry Brown (Jean); her sister, Sandra Brown (David Caughlin); as well as many relatives in Ontario and Scotland. Gail was predeceased by her parents, Lt.-Colonel (Ret) Douglas Brown and Kathleen Brown M.V.O.
Gail had a deep love for her family, and one of her greatest joys was spending summers with them at the family cottage on Lake of the Woods, a tradition that began in 1964. A trip to Scotland in 2005 was a significant turning point in her life, where she met her husband, Calum.
A passionate swimmer and lifeguard during her teenage years, Gail also worked as a swimming instructor, sharing her love for the water with others. Later, she dedicated 35 years to the Canadian Employment Immigration Union, where she made valuable contributions to her field.
Gail found joy in playing the organ, a hobby that brought her peace and fulfillment. She was also a proud 43-year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter Q, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she formed many cherished friendships.
Gail’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion during her final days.
A celebration of Gail’s life will take place at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society in memory of Gail.
Gail’s presence will be deeply missed, but her love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

I was so sorry to hear the passing of Sister Gail Brown. She worked with me at CEIU for years. She was a loyal and honest colleague and she kept that office organized. She loved her family and spoke often about her heritage and love of the lake and memories made there. I will never forget when she came back from visiting Jeff while he was away at school and told me she had met the love of her life. Months later we were attending her beautiful wedding. My deepest condolences to all of her family. I know she will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Kelly Minucci (Colleague and friend) on: Dec 30, 2024
