It has been?my privilege to have know Peter for some 50 years. He has a most positive effect on my life. This was a mench in all respects. We were fortunate enough to share a meal late last year. I often think of him. Rest well. - Posted by: Mark Yukelis (Friend) on: Feb 15, 2025

Ernie and Peter met nearly 5 decades ago through business in the garment industry in Winnipeg and Montreal. Their wives became close friends as well. Following Peter's retirement, and return to Winnipeg, the two couples became much closer friends until Olga's passing, then Peter's recent passing. Lunches at Oscar's, Luda's and Bernstein's were Peter's favourites for lunch! At almost each meeting, Ernie and Peter discussed some recollection from their business years, which they still treasured. After Olga's passing, Ernie and Margaret, knowing how much Peter appreciated some Ukrainian foods during the Christmas Holidays, would pack a "goody box" of a few of his favourites, and hand them over to him at lunch at Luda's a week before Christmas. Sad to say, Peter was not able to enjoy the food this past Christmas but we, Ernie & Margaret, ate the goodies and reminisced about this wonderful and kind friend and will remember him always. Rest in Peace, Peter; give our hugs to Olga. - Posted by: Ernest (Ernie) and Margaret CHOPTUIK (Friends) on: Jan 07, 2025

Peter was a truly honourable man, who made a larger than life impact on the Montreal community while he lived there. It would be harder to find a more decent, finer man. A real mensch. He will be missed. Judy Gardos and Tom Bergman - Posted by: Judy Gardos Bergman (Friend) on: Jan 04, 2025
