LARRY (WILLIAM) WAH
With sadness, surrounded by his loved ones, we announce the passing of Larry William Wah after a brief battle with cancer.
Larry was predeceased by his wife Susan of 54 years in 2021. Larry leaves behind two children, Darrin (Sue) and Tami (Al) and three granddaughters, Hannah, Jessie and Jenna.
Larry was born in Cartwright, MB, became an avid outdoorsmen, enjoying fishing, bird hunting, and some big game hunting.
One of Larry’s biggest passions in life was fishing, having caught many Master Anglers throughout his life, he was two short of his Grand Master Gold Badge only due to releasing two species several times without completing all the details which we joked about many times.
There were many years spent at Pioneer Bay, a campsite in Pinawa with his family and friends. Countless hours around a campfire and fishing.
Larry was a founding and life member of the Winnipeg Trap and Skeet Club. Being one of the best trapshooters in Manitoba, he shot numerous 100 straight in singles and doubles. Among many of his shooting achievements, he proudly attended the Western Canadians and the Grand American Shoots. Another milestone for Larry was being inducted into the trapshooting Hall of Fame in 2000.
Another passion Larry had was spending time and training dogs. He had a special bond with Kaycee and Oakley who were also by his side at the end. Larry enjoyed the company of many neighbours and friends. He touched the hearts and taught many about shooting and fishing and will be sadly missed by all who met him and spent time with him.
As per Larry’s request there will be no service.
Special thanks to Selkirk Regional Health Authority, Dr. Gillette and the MAID Team along with the nursing staff who helped care for him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
As dad would always say
"Straight Shooting and Tight Lines”.

I am so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. We were both members of the Winnipeg transportation club for many years and had a lot of fun times at social functions. I still remember how much his customers loved him as well. My deepest sympathies. - Posted by: Tammy Stark (Friend) on: Feb 07, 2025

Sincere condolences to Darrin and Tami and their families. We have such great memories of fishing, trap shooting and just visiting, all done with laughter. - Posted by: Don & Barb Cameron (Friend) on: Feb 02, 2025

Larry was a mentor in the office and on the water. He knew the best places to eat in Winnipeg and would take me on a lot of his sales calls. Larry would take me to his gun club and always talked about Tammi’s shooting achievements. I learned a lot professionally and personally from Larry and will miss him tremendously. Very sorry to hear about the families loss. Wishing the family all the best. - Posted by: Chris Jones (Co-worker/ Fishing friend) on: Jan 21, 2025

Darren & Tami and families. We were saddened to read about your loss of your Dad. We commend your parents for choosing Maid. Doug and I are now considering Maid as well. We were so blessed to have had such wonderful neibours for the twenty five years on Kurt Ave. I am so glad Doug visited your Dad and Hercoskys last summer while I was in the dentist chair. No one knows what tomorrow brings. Take care of each other and keep the families together. Best wishes. - Posted by: Joyce & Doug Sewell, Roxanna and Darrell. (Neibours,Friends) on: Jan 12, 2025
