LEO (LEODOR) LANGLOIS

With great courage, dignity and his wife by his side, Leo passed away on January 2, 2025, at the age of 86.
He is survived by his wife Iris, his five children, Lee (Karen), Jacqueline, Errol, Kelly (Sharon), Simone (Dan) and Iris's children, Rick (Wendy) Lowey and Elizabeth Petersen, 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, sisters, Rena (Bernie), Blanche, Irene (Mike) and his fur baby Charlie.
He was predeceased by his parents, Marie-Louise and Leonard Langlois, sisters, Antoinette (Hector), Lucille (Al) and brother Edward (Audrey), sons-in-law, Jeff Zilke and Robert Faubert.
Leo was born in Prince Albert, SK and raised in Manitoba and moved to Bellsite, Bellvue and Bowsman as his Mother was a school teacher. He joined the RCMP in the early 1960s and was a committed member for 23 years, he then moved to Winnipeg and was hired as the Head of Security at Assiniboine Downs until his retirement.
Leo enjoyed playing hockey, football and later golfing. Also, he enjoyed playing cards whether it was crib, rummy or bridge that he was taught by his sister Rena. He was an avid sports fan and always had the latest copy of Hockey News by his side. His favourite team was the Vancouver Canucks and he attended a few games in Vancouver with his son Kelly.
Leo loved nature, bird watching, gardening, and walking in the forest. Leo was able to reconnect with his RCMP buddies through Facebook and enjoyed the many hours of reminiscing about the good old days.
He enjoyed assisting others in the community by driving them to appointments, doing yard work or indoor house painting.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Club Joyal.
A member of the Catholic Church, serving as an altar boy and dedicated to the church until his passing.
On Leo’s wishes, he will be cremated, A Catholic Mass and Celebration of Life will take place in the spring in Ste. Anne, MB.
His final resting place will be at the Ile des Chênes Cemetery beside his mother, father and sister Lucille.
