Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Farewell my friend. You are one of the great ones! We will see you on the other side. Cheers! - Posted by: Robert Gray (Friend) on: Feb 25, 2025

  • Howard grew up in Fort Garry as I did. We reconnected as my husband Robb and he were both St Vital Curling club members and then in Rotary ST BONIFACE/ST VITAL. What a kind, generous human being he was. Uncle Howard Robb will search you out for a glass. My sincere condolences Beth and family. - Posted by: Sharon Finnen (Friend) on: Feb 01, 2025

  • Met Howard 40 years ago selling frozen steak & seafood from back of small Datsun pickup trucks. Loved him from day 1, loved him since, loved him always. What a character. Good bye my friend. - Posted by: Greg Parson (Friend) on: Jan 21, 2025

  • What can you say about Uncle Howard that hasn't already been said? As Auntie Beth would always say on more than one occasion: "There is no grey area with Uncle Howard...it's either black or white. Period!" He was a real character & when he became a part of our crazed family he just blended in with no effort whatsoever. Funny...Stubborn...Loving...that was Uncle Howard. If you were lucky enough to be a part of his family or a friend...you could not have had a better one. He will indeed, be missed by so many... RIP Dude...Give De Meech a huge hug from us.. • It was an honor to know Howard and I considered him a good friend. Knew him about 40 years selling asphalt to him when he had his own company up until his retirement at Superior Asphalt. He will be Missed. - Posted by: GLENN MORRISON (Friend) on: Jan 13, 2025

  • To Beth and extended family, please accept our sincerest condolences. Uncle Howard was a friend and a nieghbour, He will be missed by our family. As Howard was our leader, I was one of the "Brixton Boys", who helped and participated in the planned parties. As a matter of fact , when Howard and Ken were starting the "party circuit", they dropped by home when I was out of town. Cec, my wife let them in and Howard asked where I kept my scotch. Cec said she wasn't sure, but my son Andrew blurted out , in that cabinet. Needless to say when I got home later in the week, and thought I might enjoy a glass, or two, I found an empty bottle with a note thanking me for letting them "use" it! Howard was always there when any nieghbour was working on anything and could use some help. This usually resulted in an all afternoon and sometimes an evening event..... which most of us willingly participated. Howard was known to my children as Uncle Howard and of course Aunty Beth. He was always interested in them and what they were doing. He was a caring and very good friend, ready to help and always coming up with ideas to make our lives more fun and interesting. Howard will be sadly by all, but wherever he is, he is already organizing another event! Heartfelt thoughts to you Beth. All our Love Jim, Cec, Andrew and Laura. PS I made this a longer than normal as Howard was always telling stories, jokes, that went on and on!! - Posted by: Jim Phillips (Friend) on: Jan 12, 2025

  • Was very pleased to know Howard we used to curl against him on Friday night and then in the men’s Wednesday night league. He was a great curler had great fun with him while working with him and a very kind and respectful gentleman.. Howard had a funny delivery style was made you wonder if he was going to actually make the shot he was calling. - Posted by: Don Spewak (Friend fellow curler and former employee at superior.) on: Jan 11, 2025

  • Condolences to Howard's family. Sad to learn of his passing. Howard was such a good guy and the St. Vital CC will miss him. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Bradley Pisiak (curling friend) on: Jan 11, 2025
