MARIA (MARY) MUZYKA

1933 - 2025

On January 2, 2025, Mary passed away with her family by her side at the St. Boniface Hospital. Our dear mother, baba, great-baba, sister, and aunt left us just a few days before her 92nd birthday. She will be missed but never forgotten.

Mary is survived by her daughter Rose Ann (Stewart), and son Yaroslow (Maria), grandchildren, Thomas (Sheri), Victor (Karrie), Charlene (Terry), Jeremy (Alex), 12 great-grandchildren, sisters, Verna, Anna (Wayne), and Florence and sister-in-law Liz.

Mary is predeceased by Peter, her husband of 46 years, her parents, Wasyl "Bill" and Wasylka Cherewayko, sister Helen (Stanley), brothers, Matt (Dolores) and John, brothers-in-law Peter S. and Peter T.

Mary very much enjoyed being at The Waverley retirement residence. She cherished her friendships and your kind gestures during her stay. She also spoke highly of The Waverley staff; your kindness and support were appreciated by Mary.

Our family is incredibly grateful to Mary’s friends and staff at The Waverley for making Mary’s final years most enjoyable.

The family also wants to thank the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for your efforts, support, and compassion during the unexpected and very sudden turn in Mary’s health.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Willow Place Shelter in Mary’s name.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St.
