Sylvia, beloved wife of the late James Dixon, will be lovingly remembered by her sons, David (Ann), Michael (Allison) and daughter Shirley, her granddaughters, Julie and Natalie, great-granddaughters, Chloe and Kelsey, and great-great-granddaughter Paisley.
She was born in Godalming, Surrey and came to Canada in 1946 as a war bride. Sylvia was a member of St. Andrew’s Anglican church and the ACW. She spent many hours helping at church events, crafting and working on the quilts for the bazaars. Bird watching, gardening and crosswords were favourite pastimes.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. with reception will follow.
In memory of Sylvia donations may be made to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, 611 Corydon Avenue, Winnipeg, R3L 0P3.
