It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Lillian Chemerika, 85, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, after a brief battle with cancer at Seven Oaks Hospital on January 9, 2025.
Lorraine was a loving mother to Mark Chemerika and Allan Chemerika (Cheryle-Ann), and a devoted grandmother to Dustin (Natalie) and Marie Chemerika. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Kory, Lincoln, and Cassius. Lorraine is survived by her sister and lifelong friend, Eileen.
Lorraine is now reunited in heaven with her youngest son, Duane and her late husband Lawrence. She is also joyfully welcomed by her brothers, Don, Victor, and Edward in God’s embrace.
Lorraine had a deep passion for camping, fishing, and traveling with her family. Lorraine’s love for family was evident in everything she did, and she took great joy in the foster dogs that Cheryle and Allan often cared for, always eager to meet them and hear about their progress.
Lorraine will be greatly missed by all who knew her and her memory will be cherished by her family and many dear friends.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
