Clara Milling passed away in her 90th year on January 23, 2025, beloved partner, cherished mother, and grandmother. Clara was freed from her earthly ties to be with her life-long companion and love of her life, Robert.
Clara was born in Sioux Lookout, Ontario to Jane Florance Bruce (nee McInnes) and Henry Livingston Bruce on June 9, 1935. Clara was predeceased by her loving husband of 64.5 years, Robert Milling. Left to mourn and to celebrate her life are daughter Tannis Galbon (Mark), son Blair (Samantha), grandchildren Desiree (JF), Tyson (Leanne), Lena (Ray), Trevor (Mariah), and Jessica. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Clara had many jobs in her youth including being a Licensed Practical Nurse, and working as a teller at the CIBC in Sioux Lookout. She was a cherished friend to many and could always light up the room, she was the life of the party.
Shortly after their marriage, Clara and Robert moved to Transcona to follow Robert’s job with the CNR. With the start of their young family, Clara became a homemaker and took great pride in raising her two children. Besides being a loving mother she also kept us looking good with home sewn and knitted clothes, and we loved coming home to the smell of something delicious freshly baked. These wonderful traditions were carried on with her grandchildren, who she loved spending time with.
Clara enjoyed many hobbies including ringette, bowling, her ladies club, and pettipoint, where she crafted numerous works of art. Clara also enjoyed travelling, including many road trips, and rail adventures across Canada with Robert. She loved the ocean, and had the opportunity to not only visit both coasts of Canada, but also several Caribbean destinations. Time at home in the summer was spent working in the yard and she took great pride in her flower beds, creating a beautiful display of colour at their Transcona home.
We will miss her laugh, her great sense of fun, mischief and humour, her wisdom and strength and the comfort of knowing she was always there for us. Her family will continue to carry her kind hearted spirit forward.
Soar with the angels mom,
we love you always.

I was saddened to hear of your Mom (& Dad's) passing. They were great neighbors. Any time you'd see your Mom you were welcomed with a huge smile which was often followed up with an offering of a freshly baked cookie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Lori Shaw (Gillingham) (Neighbor) on: Feb 01, 2025
