Regretfully we announce the passing of Allan.
He leaves behind his daughters, Marie, Annie and Emily; brother Brian; sisters, Beverley (Craig), Susan (David), Barbara (Bob), Sandra (Mark) and Jody. Allan was predeceased by his parents, Mae and Harvey; brother Dexter and grandmother Marie.
After becoming a registered nurse Allan worked many years as a paramedic where he witnessed many horrific scenes. He also delivered babies and saved lives. Allan was a big guy with a big heart and was well liked by many people. He really had a great sense of humour.
A special thank you to Marion Willis and the staff at Morberg House and to Jamie and the staff at Cambridge Health on Henderson Hwy. Both facilities fought to keep Allan with them. Donations to any organization that helps homeless people in Winnipeg would be sweet.
A Celebration of life will be held at Desjardins Funeral Home, 357 DesMeurons Street on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 2:00 pm.

Allan used to play the bongos and perform magic tricks using my little lady powder puff mitt. It resembled smoke when Allan hit it against his hand and magically items would disappear! I remember a few years after that when Allan rolled a snowball starting at the flood bowl all the way down the sidewalk. People came out of their houses to help because it was really huge. I think it was taller than Allan and, of course, heavy. They rolled it to the front of our house and it sat like a statue on the boulevard. I wish I had a picture of it. It was art! Rest in peace Allan. - Posted by: Susan (Sister) on: Feb 01, 2025

Al and I were Paramedic partners for many years and we saw many horrific things together. We worked as a team together and he always had my back. I'll always remember him as a gentle giant who also had a sense of humour. We had many adventures and shenanigans together that I'll never forget. The Boles and Spooner team stories are still remembered and spoken of today. I did lose contact with him over the years, but have always had him in my thoughts. RIP Al.
