  • As an older cousin, Brian was someone I always looked up to. I was closer in age to Bob and Lea, so I spent more time with them than Brian. We lived side by side at the base in Winnipeg and in St. Francois Xavier, where our parents built houses a short distance apart. Brian, Bob, Vic and I often dug, nailed and pushed endless wheelbarrows of cement and gravel under the guidance of Uncle Uly and my dad, Andy. To me, Brian was stoic, with a gentle manner and an easy smile. He always had a kind word for my sisters and I. He was also very athletic. I remember seeing him swimming at the base pool in Winnipeg, and I couldn't believe that a human being could swim that fast. My parents always liked Brian saying how nice he was to them. Mom often commented on his nice hair! I lost touch with Brian over the years and I wish that I knew him better. To the Cyr family, Gail and I would like to give you our deepest Condolences - Posted by: Jack Van Dyck (Cousin) on: Feb 08, 2025

  • My sincere condolences to the Cyr family, I had the privilege to get to know Brian through the MMF. We shared many laughs, stories and he was always a pleasure to work with. Thank you for your service Brian, may Vivian welcome you home. Rest easy soldier you’ve earned your wings. God bless - Posted by: Theresa Lorteau (Former Colleague) on: Feb 08, 2025
