It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Peter Belous, aged 81, who peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife Shirley and family.
James (Jim) was a man whose heart was as vast as his generosity. He was born on December 28, 1943, in Edrans Manitoba. He grew up with a love for his family, friends, and all creatures big and small. Known for his unwavering kindness, Jim was the first to offer a helping hand and the last to leave a friend in need. His love for children and animals was boundless, and he found joy in sharing his life with those he loved.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather to all of his family’s fur babies, Jim was a pillar of strength and warmth in his family. His love for his wife, Shirley, was evident in every moment they shared over the past 58 years, and his pride in his children, Jennifer and Bradley, was immeasurable. Along with the Belous Family’s pet dog Starr, he had so much love for dogs, cats and other animals, this was a testament to his gentle spirit and his belief that all living beings deserved love and respect.
Jim’s friendship was a gift to many. He possessed an innate ability to listen with empathy and speak with wisdom. His laughter was infectious, and his presence comforting.
Though Jim is no longer with us, his legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He was a shining example of what it means to be selfless, to put others before oneself, and to live with an open heart.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; children, Jennifer (Mike) and Bradley (Megan, and a host of cherished family members, friends, and furry companions who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street, Brandon, MB, on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jim’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
May Jim rest in peace, forever remembered for the love he gave so freely.
