Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL MICHAEL REDMOND
Peacefully, in the early morning hours of Sunday February 9, at the age of 41, Paul Michael Redmond, graduated to be with his Dad, Michael Redmond, to dance among the stars on his Dad’s birthday. Paul rejoins not only his Dad, but his Grandma, Bernice and Grandad, Earl Rudderham, his Nanny, Dorthy Redmond and his Grandpa William Redmond, and Uncle Neil Jones who have been waiting for him. As Paul passed his hands were held by his caring and dedicated Mom, Judy Redmond, and Step-dad Brian Everton who are sorrily feeling his absence and will hold him forever in our hearts. He will be equally missed by his longtime supporting companion Donovan Kroeker and his friend Mike Kostanski who have been a fundamental part of his life and shared in so many good laughs and daily life for most of his adult life. Paul would want his girlfriend, Chantal Lussier to continue to smile and dance even in his absence. The Redmond clan who includes, Uncle Bill (Beryl) Redmond and Auntie Debbie Jones, and the Rudderham clan including, Uncle John (Carole) Rudderham, Aunt Linda (Ford) Colyer, Aunt Nancy (John) Ferguson and his many cousins will miss hearing about his adventures. The recent addition of the Everton family added to Paul’s family circle. Paul cherished his friendships with his fellow dancers in the Manitoba Possible (formerly SMD) All Abilities Dance group who performed for numerous fundraisers and celebrations including the Canada Games in Winnipeg. Paul also performed a Salsa dance at the 2015 World Latin Dance competition with his dance partner, Regan. With the support of SCE LifeWorks, Paul volunteered his time at Sports Manitoba, SSCY Centre, University of Manitoba, the Dakota Community Centre, and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights to name just a few. Paul was fortunate to have been supported by several organizations and many individuals throughout his life including Haley, Donny, Landon, and Cindi of SCE LifeWorks, the St. Amant staff at his house who are too many to name. You have all been instrumental in his life.
Paul educated and impacted so many people by using his smile to welcome others to see the real Paul Redmond. His smile lit up a room. To his many friends and companions, you are precious and caring soles. Also, special thanks to the many who have listened and tried to help Paul get over the ‘bumps’ including the incredible staff at Access Fort Garry, Ryan Dziadyk, Halyna Boguski, Dr. D. Houston, and most recently, Dr. Wheeler along with many other staff and specialists throughout the years.
Grandma Bernice shared many years of trips and Sunday suppers followed by games and lots of Paul’s belly laughs. There is a little handwritten note that she left behind that best summarizes our wishes – “Go now in peace. Never be afraid.” Dance on our dear Paul, Dance on!! We would ask you to celebrate the memory of Paul by smiling and sharing your life with others. Be honest and kind to one another.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SCE Lifeworks Inc., Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba, or a charity of your choice. Notification of a Celebration of Life with be forthcoming. Interment will occur in private with immediate family with assistance from Neil Bardal Funeral Centre.

Judy, I was so sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. I was hoping to go to his funeral but did not see any posting of when it was. Please know how privileged I feel for being part of his early school years. He was such a sweet boy. Take Judy and know I’m thinking about you. - Posted by: Val oster (Friend) on: Aug 08, 2025

Judy/Brian, I was sad to read of Paul's passing. I wanted to send my condolences particularly to Judy who has supported Paul as a mother and advocate for 41 years. But my sympathy to both Judy and Brian for your unwavering support of Paul. While I met Paul only a couple of times, I knew of him through Judy, who proudly spoke of her son. - Posted by: Clare Simpson (Friend) on: Feb 16, 2025

Our family will always remember Paul's beautiful smile. When we would drop Mike off at Riel we would joke to Paul that Mike was his problem now. That always got a smile from Paul. Paul was Mike's best audience when it came to his silly pranks and jokes. Mike and Paul shared a love of music. Mike loves wearing all the Rock and Roll T-shirts and playing the CD's Paul has given him through the years. Mike loved having Paul as an audience when he was playing his drums at Riel and we know Paul loved listening to his buddy rock out. Paul was a best buddy to Mike and will be missed. Our deepest condolences to Judy, Brian and family. I'll miss you buddy. Riel won't be the same without you Paul...Love Mike - Posted by: Mike, Vicki, Michael and Steven Kostanski (room mate and friends) on: Feb 15, 2025

Paul was a remarkable young man with a contagious smile. He is truly missed but never forgotten. He will stay dancing in Chantal's heart forever. It was such a pleasure to watch the performances and see how the faces just lit up. Cherish the good memories as you move on. It has been a trying journey but he could not ask for a more supportive mom. Our sincere sympathy and our prayers are with you at this difficult time. - Posted by: Ron (friend) on: Feb 15, 2025
