IRMGARD ILSE MILNER

January 16, 1925 – February 3, 2025

In Loving Memory

On February 3rd, 2025, our precious, adorable mom passed away.

She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Frieda Hieke from Saxony Germany, sister Gertrude, husband Karl, and her son Walter.

Irmgard will be missed immensely by her 6 remaining children, 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Irmgard was educated as a teacher before immigrating to Canada in 1949. She worked for MTS as an operator and supervisor for 32 years retiring at 71. She resided in Selkirk, Manitoba much of her life and the town held a special place in her heart.

Irmgard looked forward to every day of her life, always enjoying her flowers, books, newspapers, coffee, travel and lively conversations with her children. She believed in being content with a simple life and keeping family close. She had charm, kindness and a witty sense of humour.

On January 16 Irmgard celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her children and many of her 48 grandchildren. She was beaming with joy.

Irmgard enjoyed a remarkably full life; she enjoyed good health and the love of her family until her final days. Irmgard always said, "My children are my greatest joy in this life."

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date.

We love you mom....and you will forever be cherished in our hearts. Your children Walter, Angela, Margita, Annette, Charles, Peter and Gwen.

Gilbart Funeral Home,

Selkirk in care of arrangements.
