Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE LOUISE ADAIR
Anne Adair peacefully passed away, after a lengthy illness.
Anne was born in Starbuck, MB to parents, Octavie and Jean Lavallee. There were 12 children in the family including eight brothers. Seven served overseas during the second World War and all but one returned: Henry, Hubert, George, Albert (died in infancy), Gustave KIA, Leo, Herman, and Raymond, and three sisters, Agnes, Doreen, and Marie. Jean died in 1939 leaving Octavie to raise the children on her own. She taught them to work hard, be humble, be kind and to appreciate all that you have, a philosophy she adhered to for the rest of her life.
In 1947 Anne married John Juskow, they moved to Winnipeg and had two sons, Allan and David. Anne was employed with the Winnipeg Free Press in the Accounting and Data Centre from 1957 to 1977 along with her sister Agnes. In 1973 Anne married Carman Adair and together they had a happy life until his passing in 2003.
Anne was a wonderful woman, to us she personified strength, dignity, generosity, compassion, and graciousness. She was always quick to laugh and nothing got her down. She faced life's challenges with measured calmness and optimism, accepting whatever was to be. She loved her family more than anything and nothing made her happier than getting together with them. Anne’s boys were her everything and she was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Next to her boys she loved her cats, Candy and Baby. Anne was an excellent cook, loved to eat, and was the envy of many as she never gained an ounce!
Anne was the last of her family to pass and with the end of her life it is the end of a generation, with family feeling the loss. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Allan (Lynda) of Victoria, BC and David (Cathy) of Oakbank, MB, grandchildren, Shawn Juskow, Sheryl (Darrin) Bohonis and Ryan Juskow; as well as great-grandchildren, Aidan and Kaitlyn Bohonis. Anne had many nieces and nephews who were there to support her on the last leg of her journey and whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and staff of Concordia Place for the compassionate care they provided Anne with over the last two years.
Cremation has taken place, and a family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
