Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE ALARIE
Surrounded by family, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Alice Alarie passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 95 years.
Alice was born on March 19, 1929, to Albert and Bernadette Vachon in Oak Lake, Manitoba. As the eldest of a family of 13 children, Alice quickly took on many responsibilities on the family farm. From taking care of the animals to working in the fields; no challenge was too difficult for her.
In 1960, she met the love of her life, Emilien Alarie and they settled on the Alarie family farm in Ste-Agathe. Mom enjoyed gardening, working in the fields with Dad and taking care of her flowers in her flowerbeds. Mom had many talents including knitting, sewing, cross stitching and baking to name a few. Many of us were blessed to receive some of her work as gifts. Family gatherings were very important moments for Mom and she cherished spending time with her loved ones.
Alice was predeceased by her husband Emilien in 2009 as well as three siblings. She is survived by her three children; Raymond (Diane Drapeau), Jeannette (Paul Lansard) and Jeanne (Marc Remillard). She also leaves to mourn 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Alice leaves behind numerous relatives, including three brothers, six sisters, brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law and numerous nephews and nieces.
Alice had an impact on every person she cared for throughout her life. She was generous with her time and love, courageous, inspirational, kind, loving, full of life. Mom had strong values, and she showed us what can be accomplished with determination, faith and persistence. She lived her life to the fullest including travelling, chairing committees and doing volunteer work. Her greatest joys and accomplishments were the 48 years of married life she spent with her husband and the gift of being a Mom, a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 with the eulogy beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Holy Family Parish at 778, rue Archibald, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Foyer Valade for all their support and care during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
