ALICE CLEMENT
It is with deep sorrow but gratitude for a long life well-lived that the family says goodbye to its beloved Memère. The Matriarch of the Clément/Pelletier clan was predeceased by her cherished husband Léo Clément, her siblings and their spouses, many family members and dear friends. She leaves to mourn her passing her five children: Patricia (Gabriel Masse), Gérald (Hélène/deceased), Robert (Patti), Richard (Lynne) and Bernie (Lisa) as well as 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She will also be mourned by many special cousins, nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Alice was born on October 3, 1927, the youngest of 11 siblings, and spent her formative years in Ste Agathe and LaBroquerie. She was proud to obtain a teaching certificate and in her late teens, met the love of her life. Léo and Alice were married in St. Boniface on October 25, 1947. This was the beginning of a beautiful partnership that lasted 45 years. Their bond was inseparable, whether manning the general store and post office in Marchand, MB or working side by side for their endeavours with their company, Springfield Enterprises. Many happy moments were spent at their home on Cabana Place, summers at Wendigo Resort and a later move to Duluth Bay. Alice secured a position as teacher’s aide in the French department at Pierre Radisson Collegiate and was beloved by colleagues and students alike. An early retirement prompted many winter escapades in their motor home to Texas and Phoenix, Arizona where wonderful friendships were forged. Following Léo’s unexpected death on September 15, 1992, Mom moved to Villa Béliveau in Southdale and two years ago, moved again to Villa Aulneau where she reconnected with many old friends.
Mom had an indomitable spirit and always a smile and a kind word for everyone. To know her was to love her! We are grateful for the cherished memories which will comfort us in the days ahead.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Saints Martyrs Canadiens church, 289 Dussault St. Viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. with mass to follow at 1:00 p.m.

To the Clement Clan. Your mother and grandmother brought light to all who knew her. With a sharp wit that never dulled and a warmth that could comfort even the weariest soul, she filled many lives with laughter, wisdom, and love. Though your hearts ache in her absence, take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved Leo. Her spirit will live on in the stories you share, the lessons she taught, and the love that remains. May she rest peacefully, knowing she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
