  • It is with deep sadness that we heard about Randy's passing. He will always be remembered as a great fun loving guy and coworker. He was always willing to help out. He loved his music and always had suggestions for great albums and music systems to play them on. • We are so sorry to hear about Randy’s passing. I knew from the first time I met him working together at Health Sciences Centre that he was a terrific person. He became a close friend, luncheon partner and confidant over the years. My son remembers him fondly from the time Randy played Santa Claus for both of our children when our son was about 5 and our daughter was a baby. We would chat about cars, guitars, guns and music whenever we got together for lunch. He will be greatly missed by us all. A good person gone way too early. Miss you Bud. - Posted by: Eugene and Maureen Gerbasi (Friend) on: Mar 12, 2025

  • It was with great sadness we learned of the passing of Randy/"Lou". He possessed a beautiful, intelligent mind and a heart that knew no bounds for his family and many, many friends. Although he had many hobbies, all have experienced the music of "The Adults" on Wednesday night, every Wednesday was as magical and uplifting as the one before. Randy inspired us all to live in the moment and take time to enjoy those around you with the timeless and ever present music. Cheers Randy, and thank you you always for this gift. • I was saddened to hear of Randy’s passing. I am retired now, but Randy was instrumental in my career with HSC taking the direction it did, for that I am forever thankful. You always knew you could count on Randy to help you with any HR issue that came up with professionalism. I also knew Randy through his dealings wilt my ex at Advance Electronics, it was always a pleasure to see him come to the store. My sincere condolences to his family, he will be missed. - Posted by: Cathy Belanger (Co-worker) on: Mar 03, 2025

  • We were greatly saddened to read of Randy’s passing. We both had the pleasure of knowing Randy from our HSC days in the 1980’s. Randy was always very professional in his appearance and actions. Such a nice guy, with a great smile, a good listener, and easy to talk to, important tools for a Senior HR Consultant. We send our sincere condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Richard & Karen Howell (Former HSC Acquaintances) on: Mar 02, 2025

  • Randy was a lifelong friend and leader of the band for over 45 years. A wise yet soft spoken gentleman. He was kind and generous and a person to turn to for sage advice. A wonderful person and friend to my whole family. We miss him already and always will. One of a kind making the world a better place since 1951. - Posted by: Rob St Mars (friend and bandmate) on: Mar 01, 2025

  • Deepest sympathy to family and friends of Randys. I consider him to have been a good friend. Saw him awhile back at another co-workers funeral. Today I see he and another HSC friend also passed this week. I do hope there is a HR in heaven where we can all meet once again. Had a good party at his home on McMillan with HR employees years ago. I will NEVER forget him-a man of his word. Edna - Posted by: edna edwards (co-worker in payroll/HR at HSC) on: Mar 01, 2025

  • I was deeply saddened to read that Randy had passed away. I enjoyed our many years of working together while were both employed at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. He was indeed a professional in his field in his Employment Officer function welcoming untold hundreds of people to begin their careers at HSC. He had a very kind, caring and empathetic approach in his interactions with staff at all levels. Randy was an integral part of the HR team always ready to share his thoughts and views. A team player in every respect. On a personal level I extend my condolences to everyone in his family. I knew and visited many of them over the years, connected as we were as distant relatives through our Icelandic grandparents. Randy will be remembered. - Posted by: Wayne Byron (co worker in healthcare Human Resources and distant relative) on: Mar 01, 2025
