FRANK LARRY ROSENTHAL

1940 - 2025

It is with profound sorrow, our family, Jeff, Cai, Chantel and Jason announce the passing of our adopted “Grandpa” Frank Larry Rosenthal.

Frank left a great Legacy to his favourite charities. He chose from music programs to medical research.

He was predeceased by wife Clara and brother Rudy.

Frank is survived by brothers: Alfred (Marlene), John (Carolyn), and Gordon, sister-in-law Linda and by their families, as well as his “adopted” family: Jeff, Cai, Chantel and Jason.

Frank graduated from the University of Manitoba with additional training in Strategic Planning.

He devoted his life to the growth of MTS. The pride of his career with MTS was the achievement of attaining the role of Strategic Planner of MTS.

Memorial Service will be held at Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson “In The Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, with a reception to follow.

We would like to give special thanks to his neighbours in Wildwood Park, Dave, Mike, Chris, Michelle, Don and many others. Thank you also to his caregivers at Poseidon Long-Term Care for their nearly three years of compassion, caring and support. And to his colleagues at MTS - Thank you.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • It was a long time ago at MTS on Empress, but I still view Frank's obituary with sadness. I recall many personal and business discussions we had as technology developed within the communication space. He had a good sense of humour at appropriate times and was always one to have an intelligent discussion with. His oft comments of "Big Red" were always warm and good natured. He was a kind soul. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Leonard Lewkowich (Fellow Engineering MTS employee) on: Mar 02, 2025

  • To Frank's loved ones, please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I had the privilege of working for and learning from Frank for a number of years. He took a chance on a young man returning from a stint at Telecom Canada and welcomed me into the Economics and Cost Data group. For the next 4 years, I listened, and I learned from the "Master". He was very well respected at all levels of MTS for his knowledge and dedication to his work. He in turn expected the same from each member of his group. At that time, there were a number of people that smoked in the office. Frank was a part of that group. We knew that if Frank was smoking cigarettes, it was going to be a regular, get it done day. On occasion, he would be enjoying one of his 52 pipes. The sweet aroma from the pipe tobacco was an indication that our Leader was a little more relaxed and likely pleased with the overall performance of his team. I liked Frank and I respected Frank. In short, I got lucky having Frank as my manager and he helped me a great deal in terms of my development and future opportunities within the company. I trust that your many fond memories of Frank will be of comfort to you during this most difficult time. Sincerely, Brian Arnal. - Posted by: Brian Arnal (colleague) on: Mar 02, 2025
