Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ROY CARSWELL
Following a lengthy illness, it is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Robert Carswell on March 2, 2025, at the Grace Hospital. Bob was a husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; his children Kimberly and Allan; grandchildren Lauren (Nolan) and Duncan; his precious great-grandchild Marty; all his nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, brother in-law as well as his many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Allan and Betty and his three brothers Allan George, Donald William and John Kenneth.
Bob grew up in the Sherbrook area of Winnipeg, attending Gordon Bell High School and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. He started his career with the Manitoba Telephone System in 1957, on the “Line Gang” and progressed through installer, instructor, rewriting practices, quality inspector, ending his career as a coordinator of special projects. He thoroughly enjoyed his work with MTS having met many wonderful people both in the city and all the country points he visited in the line of work. He had a great sense of humour, which we will miss.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
Remember Bob and what he meant to you.
We would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Aides at Grace Hospital and all at Realcare who cared for Bob in his final days. Thank you also to all the other medical professionals with whom we have interacted with over the years. It is because of your expertise and care that he was able to enjoy the life he had.
In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, a donation to your favorite charity can be made in Bob’s name.

I was sorry to read of Roy's passing. I got to know him late in our careers at MTS. He was so experienced in his job and so well liked by all his co-workers. My condolences to Dorothy and family. Ted Scoles - Posted by: Ted Scoles (Friend/ coworker) on: Mar 15, 2025
