SHIRLEY BANNERMAN

(nee TOMCHUK)

April 19, 1937 - February 22, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Shirley Bannerman on February 22, 2025 at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Donald. Shirley is survived by her children, Murray (Liz), Shelley (Glen), Brad (Lisa) and Wayne (Linda), nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She had an extraordinary talent for cooking. From cherished family recipes that her grandchildren loved including her perogies and cabbage rolls (grandma’s sushi). Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of love and laughter.

Thanks to family and friends for their love, support and prayers over the past few months.

Rest in peace Mom and say Hi to Dad for us.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Sending condolence to Shirley’s family. I remember with fondness the fun times out camping with Shirley and Don back in the days when we were all RV owners and yes the pot luck dinners! - Posted by: Edith Stephenson (Friend) on: Mar 16, 2025

  • I went to RRCC (fall of 1983, second year, Computer Technology), and I thought it was really cool that a classmate, Wayne, had a brother playing in the NHL at that time, now former NHL goaltender Murray Bannerman. Condolences to the family. May your Mom rest in peace. - Posted by: Bradley Pisiak (sender of condolences) on: Mar 15, 2025
