Stefan Ingthorsson (nee Isfeld), age 63, of Winnipeg, died at home with his beloved wife on February 27, 2025.
He was born at the Women’s Pavilion, at a time when his parents, Gunnur and Ingthor Isfeld, lived in the small prairie town of Langruth. But his one true home was Iceland, where he had lived as a boy and developed a love for exploring the countryside. Gimli was also his home for a time, where he made enduring friendships.
He will be missed very much, but also remembered with smiles for his eccentric tastes, mechanical talents, encyclopedic knowledge, and remarkable resourcefulness. Not to mention sheer obstinance! As he would have said, he spent 63 years ‘on this side of the grass’. We were lucky to share it there with him.
Honouring Stefan's wishes, family and friends will be gathering for a Celebration of Life.
