Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE MARIE DAFOE
With deep love and gratitude, we announce the passing of our mother, Joyce Dafoe, who left us on February 23, 2025, at the age of 92.
Joyce was a devoted wife to her late husband, Peter, and together they built a life filled with family, travel and love. She was mother to Elizabeth (Terry), Van (Kristin), Adam (Garet) and Lynne; a cherished grandmother to Laurel (Aaron), Jessica (Dylan), Grace (Brendan), Mike (Kim), Aaron (Alex), Julian, Brigid, Norah, and Peter; and great-grandmother to Emmett and Owen.
A compassionate and skilled nurse, Joyce dedicated her career to caring for others. After retirement, she and Peter embraced a life of travel, spending summers at the family cabin in Ponemah, Manitoba and winters exploring the world. Victoria, Hawaii and Florida became favourite destinations in their later years, where they found warmth, beauty, and new experiences.
We extend our heartfelt and sincere thanks to the staff at Donwood Manor for the care and kindness Joyce received throughout her time there. Their dedication and support brought comfort and dignity to her daily life, and their efforts are greatly appreciated.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Joyce’s memory.

Joyce and I became close friends in Junior high school and we did most things together while trying to navigate our teen years. In many ways we were like twins often even dressing alike. As adults we each married a man called Peter and our first child was name Elizabeth. Our husbands became good friends and the four of us spent many happy times together. Even when I moved to Toronto and then Australia we often spoke keeping each other up to date. I have actually missed her ever since. Joyce was one of a kind....loving, loyal and full of life. I last saw her in Winnipeg in 1988 when we spent a week together and I met some of her family. I extend my deep condolances to her large family whom she loved and was so proud of. See you soon Joyce and both our Petes, xxxx MaryHelen - Posted by: MaryHelen Shipton (Friend) on: May 22, 2025
