Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA MORWICK
It is with sadness that we announce the passing our mother and grandmother, Olga Morwick, on March 14, 2025, at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 89.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sons, Barry and Bryan (Linda), grandchildren, Karissa (Andrew) and Sarah, great-grandson Leo and grandpuppy Charlekoo. She also leaves behind her special little four-legged friend Bobbi (Teddy). She was predeceased by her husband Barry in 2020.
Mom was born on December 14, 1935, to Adam and Katherine Niewierkowiec during what she referred to as “the tough years and a very cold winter”. Growing up she attended Aberdeen School, St. John’s high school and Tec Voc.
She met Barry, a hard-working firefighter and carpenter, and they were married for 64 years. Together they built their home in West Kildonan where they raised their two sons. It was her family that she treasured the most, especially her two granddaughters who will miss her very much.
The family would like to thank the many friends and relatives that visited Mom in the hospital, and a special thank you to the doctors and nurses on E4 at St. Boniface Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Fire Fighter’s Burn Fund or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
In keeping with Mom’s wishes, a private family service has taken place.

Barry & Bryan, my memories of your Mom (and your Dad too) go back many years (55 years in fact) … I remember to this day, as a little girl, your Mom inviting us to your Dad’s “Fireman’s Picnic” at the beach, I remember playing in your backyard in the wonderful fort your Dad built, I remember looking out our front window at Christmas time for years and admiring the lights on the Wooden Christmas tree your Dad built, and the meticulously manicured yard your Mom and Dad always had with the most healthy and lush plants and flowers every summer. And more recently I will cherish my memories of having lunch with your Mom a few years ago, the conversations I had with your Mom over the past few years, and visiting your Dad at Holy Family Home. Your Mom was smart, hardworking, so capable, so easy to talk with and always had good advice. I am honoured to have been at her Service, and I will miss her. My condolences to Brian and Barry and family. Ollie’s warm friendly smile will be missed on our street. Ollie was an amazing neighbor who brightened up our street with her beautiful flowers/garden. My family will miss the many conversations we shared over our backyard fence for the past 30 years. She will be missed by us all. 💐 - Posted by: Arleen Chuprun (Neighbor) on: Mar 27, 2025
