Helga was reunited with her precious husband Siegfried as she went to be with Jesus on March 19, 2025, at the age of 88 years old.
She is fondly remembered by her two dedicated sons, Michael (Tana) and Thomas (Manuela), four grandchildren: Andrew, Jordan, Marissa (Steven), and Jennedy (Jaydon), a great-grandson Levi, her sisters, Lore, Christa, and countless other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Siegfried, sister Elfriede, and brother German.
Helga was born on March 3, 1937, in Biberach, Germany and arrived in Canada in 1958. She met the love of her life Siegfried, at a New Year’s Eve gala in 1958 at the Winnipeg German Club. Helga’s greatest joy was time spent entertaining family and friends by making holidays memorable with amazing German cooking and delicious homemade cakes. She loved knitting and cross stitching and has left a legacy of beautiful cross stitch pictures for her family and others to enjoy.
Helga was a hardworking and dedicated employee working as a Nurse’s Aide, a Hair Stylist, and at The Bay Warehouse for many years.
A very special thank you to the health care aides, and activity coordinator at Shaftesbury Retirement Residence Boulevard side for the special care, love and attention that was demonstrated to Helga, you made her final years more like home.
A Celebration of Life will be on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.

I remember meeting Helga through my neighbor who was also from from Biberach. Helga was always so friendly and always showed up with a smile on her face. I remember her kindness to my neighbor and their special friendship, she was very welcoming when we came to visit. Thoughts to her family.
