SHEILA JOYCE BRYDON-GIBB

Sheila Joyce Brydon-Gibb (Nee Kelly) was born on March 13, 1932, in Rocanville, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on her daughter Barbara’s birthday, February 14, 2025, in Winnipeg at the age of 92.

She is survived by her children Barbara Larkin, Barry (Marion) Brydon, and Letitia (Mark) Robinson. Grandchildren; Ian (Jennifer) Brydon, Sheldon Brydon, Harlo (Courtney) Larkin, and Melissa (Jim) Soltess. Great-grandchildren Avery Brydon, Mackenzie and Lilly Brydon, Hayden, Brody and Taylor Larkin, Eva and Emily Soltess, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

She is predeceased by her two husbands, Bill Brydon of 49 years and Jim Gibb of 12 years, her son-in-law John Larkin and her six siblings.

Shelia met her husband Bill in Birtle, Manitoba where they had a beautiful life and raised their 3 children on their family farm. They later retired to Brandon, Manitoba in 1993. After Bill passed away, she met a bachelor farmer at a local seniors dance, and was later married.

A year and half ago Shelia moved to Winnipeg. More than anything, Shelia enjoyed being around people. She loved to have a party and loved music. She loved to play cards and often could not be beat. She was a proud Mother, Grandma and Great- Grandma and was never happier then when we were all together. Faith has always been a big part of her life and always kept as a focal point. She enjoyed being involved in many church groups and community groups over the years. Shelia was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outside taking care of her yard. Sheila also enjoyed many years of baking and showing at the local fair.

To know Shelia is to know her hugs. She always knew when you needed a hug and would give one to anyone!

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 19th at St. Charles Headingley United Church.

Memorial donations in Sheila’s memory can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or St.Charles Headingley United Church.
