It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Seitz on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at age 79.
He was proud of growing up in the North End of Brandon. Frank married Linda Sylvester on June 29, 1969, and together they had three children; Robert, Rhonda and Ryan. He loved his job as a Psychiatric Nursing Attendant and retired with the admiration and respect of his patients and his peers. His lifelong deep faith remained a comfort to him and sustained him through many serious illnesses throughout his life. Frank became legally blind 20 years ago, but none of this shook his faith, his humour, his love of life or his big heart.
Frank loved to cook and enjoyed tasting foods of every variety. He enjoyed dancing, listening to music, travelling (coast to coast and especially to see family in California), camping, playing cards, a good party and life at the cabin. He owned many vintage and sports cars and was an excellent driver. He welcomed many boarders who came for a temporary stay and assisted many immigrants to settle in Brandon. Frank lived by his motto to “cultivate friends, not money” and cherished his life-long and newly-acquired friends. Frank belonged to the Dream Cruisers Car Club, camped with the Loose Wire Gang, and he looked forward to gathering with the Breakfast Club every Tuesday. After retirement, “The Boys” would meet for coffee every weekday morning and they solved the problems of the world while enjoying each other’s company.
His family –wife Linda, children, grandchildren and extended family were his greatest joy! Their lives and activities motivated him, and he became their most devoted cheer-leader.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, George and Monica Seitz; his three brothers Gerald, Donald and Robert (who all died in their early 20's of a kidney disease), and brother-in-law Les Sylvester. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Linda; son Robert (Christine) their children Kiana and Tristan; daughter Rhonda (Bryan Weatherald) their children Mackenna, Madison and Andrew; and son Ryan (Amber) and their child Rogan. Also surviving is his sister Sherry (Mike) Hayward; sisters-in-law Diane Sylvester and Judy (John) Swanson and brother -in-law Andy (Daina) Sylvester.
Prayers will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, 327 - 4th Street, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Oliver Omega as Celebrant. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow in the Parish Square followed by an interment at Brandon Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.

My condolences to the entire Seitz family Frank was larger than life. I only knew him a short time but he was always nice to me and raised a wonderful family including his son Robert who is still one of my friends to this day. May the memories and joy of Frank’s life comfort you in these times of grief. RIP Frank - Posted by: Christopher Lowry (His sons friend) on: May 04, 2025

I was very sad to hear of Frank’s passing but not at all surprised about the highlights of his life as noted in his obituary. He clearly loved and was loved by his family, friends and co workers. We were 9th street neighbours and adolescent friends until my family relocated to Victoria. Despite the passage of all these years I still have fond memories of our youthful days. As I’m sure each of you have many which will help you through this difficult time. Please accept my condolences. My thoughts are with you.
