Keith passed away March 20, 2025, at the Betel Home in Gimli, Manitoba at the age of 86, where he resided for the past year. He was born on March 17, 1939, in Winnipeg.
Keith will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Charleen; his son Douglas (Barbara) Fisher and grandchildren, Chad (Shasta) and Jenna (Braden); daughter Audrey (Michael) Dupre and grandchildren, Darrell (Cheryl), Ian (Ashley) and Michelle; great-grandchildren, Tiara, Tavin, Tylyn, Leland, Brynlee, Trinity, Faith, Wesley and Evelyne; brother Douglas Fisher and sister Diane Papineau; as well as family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Marguerite, brother Ron, sister Valerie, sister-in-law Shirley Fisher, brothers-in-law, Murray Anderson and Robert Papineau, and grandson Jordan.
Keith had a long career in the trade industry. He began working for his father in the foundry business prior to starting his own company in the early 1970s (Saturn Industries) with his partner, John Lang, in trailer manufacturing and later slings. Upon retirement, he moved to his lakeshore home in the South Beach division at Grindstone Provincial Park.
Keith enjoyed many pastimes, including hunting and fishing (especially the annual May long weekend fishing trip to Jim’s Sand Beach cabin at Caribou Lake), snowmobiling, boating, gardening, and travelling with Char throughout the States, Mexico and Cuba, along with Doug and Shirley. A highlight of his travels included renting a motorhome for a six-month road trip throughout Alaska.
The family would like to thank the staff at Betel Personal Care Home in Gimli for the compassionate care they gave Keith the past year. Also, a special thank you to Char’s brother, Wayne, who continuously travelled back and forth from Edmonton to help out, and drive them to visit family, attend appointments and run errands.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Keith’s memory may be made to the Parkinson Society or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Winnipeg South Osborne Legion, 426 Osborne Street, Winnipeg on April 26, 2025, at 1:00 pm.

When we think of Keith, we think of Adventure. Keith would think nothing of leaving Grindstone at 30 below on a little 250 Yamaha snowmobile in a storm and head all the way to Sand Beach on Caribou Lake. He had an uncanny ability to find his way down creeks and rivers and ditches even in the dark. Never dull moment when riding with Keith, one time he hit an ice fridge at about a hundred kilometers an hour, he did the starfish plate through the air got up and said where did that come from, uninjured. He had more than 9 lives. One of his funniest mishaps was when he fell off his bicycle and landed on a rabbit he laid there for quite some time covered in mosquitoes but he didn't complain at all. Keith had a gentle way about him he rarely would get angry, it always had something positive to say. He would always be happy to do just about anything anytime will be golfing fishing cutting firewood snowmobiling it didn't matter he was always game to join in. Family was everything to Keith he enjoyed every Gathering and like hanging out with the kids doing whatever they want to do. Sometimes Char would drive him crazy, he would simply say, Charlotte Go to bed, but never raise his voice lol. I used to laugh when he would say to Char in an argument, I wasn't in that dream. Grindstone Park won't be the same without the Ambassador. He left behind so many memories, he will last forever in our minds. We miss him. - Posted by: rob and brenda (friends) on: Apr 18, 2025
