EDISON THEODORE WRIGHT

4 December 1934 – 21 March 2025

Peacefully, on March 21, 2025, Edison went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 90.

Edison is the son of Arthur and Annie Wright of Hammonds Plains NS. He is survived by his daughter Angela and husband Jim Lockhart of Fort Smith NWT. Edison joined the military at age 18 and soon found himself training as a Weapons Ammunition Technician for 405 Squadron. During his time with the military, he served all over the world including France, Gimli MB, Germany and Chatham NB. After retiring, Edison continued his service with the Corps of Commissionaires in Winnipeg.

The family loved to travel, making their way through Europe with the highlight being a trip to the Isle of Capri at Easter. Their summer vacations consisted of travel across Canada and the USA, in their tent or camper trailer where you would find them around the campfire, with coffee in hand, reminiscing about the day’s adventures and what was ahead tomorrow.

Back at home Edison and Margaret’s weekends were filled with their love for Square Dancing. Edison and Margaret were active members of the Waverley Baptist Seniors Club.

Edison was known to many as The Joker. At any given time, he could be joking and horsing around in an attempt to bring smiles and laughter to the people around him.

The family would like to give special thanks to all those who extended their support and care. The staff at 2nd Floor Grace Hospital Ortho Unit, the staff at Prime, his caregivers Mary Rose, Mila, Emil and Conny and the family’s dear friend Maggie who was devoted to his care for 30 years.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Waverley Church Winnipeg or First Baptist Church, Hammonds Plains Nova Scotia.
