Mr. Thain was my English teacher in junior at Viscount Alexander school in the mid 60s. I remember he was kind and welcoming to those of us entering our new school after completing the elementary grades at Oakenwald. A memory still clear today after all these years later…....Mr. Thain would stand at the front of the classroom with his white dress shirt sleeves rolled up and his neck tie loosened. He had a book in hand, reading Shakespeare to the class. He used big booming voices, quiet whispering voices, facial expressions, and he made those pages come alive. How fortunate we were to know Mr Thain … Sympathies to his family. Kind regards. Jan Bones (nee Stewart). - Posted by: Jan Bones (Student) on: Mar 29, 2025
