SHEILA MARGARET WATSON

(nee BAXTER)

The family of Sheila Margaret Watson (Baxter) are saddened to announce the passing of their beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother on April 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91.

Mom was born in St. Vital to loving Scottish parents. She is survived by her 4 children, David Watson (Shari), Peggy Watson, Laurie Watson (John), Wendy Stephanchew (Rick); 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased in July 2024 by her devoted and loving husband George of 69 years of marriage. She told us daily how much she missed him and wanted to be with him again.

Our Mom was lovely, strong, kind, intelligent, gracious, and friendly. She was a devoted wife, amazing Grandma, lifelong avid reader, knitter, crocheter, baker, churchgoer, soap opera watcher, supportive Mother, and loyal friend. She was the heart of our home. We will miss her greeting us with, “Hello Love,” and miss her involvement in all aspects of our lives. She was an angel in the shape of our Mom.

Till we meet again. Say, “Hi,” to Dad for us.

A small family celebration of life will be held in June on our parent’s 70th wedding anniversary.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I was so sorry to see your dear mother's obit in today's paper. My Auntie Doreen and Uncle George were good friends and neighbors of your mom and dad and I was always over at my aunt and uncle's visiting and so often your mom and dad would be there. I always enjoyed their company. Your mom was such a nice person, always smiling. I know she will be missed. Sincerely, Bonnie Dyson (niece to George and Doreen Lowry). - Posted by: Bonnie Dyson (aquaitance) on: Apr 12, 2025
