Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINE ANNETTE DYCHUK
On April 7, 2025, Christine died peacefully in palliative care at St. Boniface Hospital.
Christine was predeceased by her parents, Helen and William Dychuk of Teulon, Manitoba. She is survived by her sisters, Donna Laing and Vivian Gustafson, their families and several caring extended family members.
Christine was born on October 9, 1957, in Teulon. She was enthusiastically welcomed by her older sisters, Donna and Vivian, who were 14 and 11 years of age at the time. Being significantly younger than her siblings, Christine did not lack attention in her early years. She was our real life "baby doll"!
Christine completed Grade 12 at Teulon Collegiate and obtained employment immediately as a Customer Service Agent with Canadian Airlines in Winnipeg. Always in search of adventures, Christine willingly accepted transfers to Yellowknife, NWT and Calgary, Alberta. The employee benefits of her position enabled Christine to travel to and experience many destinations in Canada, the USA, Mexico, Europe and the Middle East.
Christine continued to work for Canadian Airlines until its merger with Air Canada in 2001. At this point, she returned to Winnipeg to pursue further education and career change. She attended Red River Community College and subsequently worked in the accounting departments of several local companies.
In the later years of her life, Christine struggled with significant health issues. During this time, she was fortunate to have the support of her sisters, close and extended family members, as well as the caring community of residents at the 55+ apartment complex where she resided.
The family is grateful for the compassionate care Christine received during the final weeks of her life in the palliative care unit at St. Boniface Hospital. The nurses at this station were noted to be exceptionally kind and caring.
A private cremation has been held.
