KENNETH WAYNE BELL

1934 - 2025

Our beloved Kenny, aged 90, of Winnipeg, passed away on March 28, 2025 at St. Norbert Personal Care Home.

He was born November 20, 1934, in Rainy River, Ontario, a son of the late David Bell and Alma Louise (Wardman).

Kenny faced many challenges in his life due to his disability, but he never let that define him. He worked as a janitor for 30 years at Shore Glass until his retirement and he also lived independently at the Assiniboine Links for the last 25 years until he moved to assisted living/care home several months ago.

Kenny loved being outdoors in nature and could often be seen walking in Assiniboine Park, to Polo Park or wherever the road took him. He also enjoyed fishing on Lake of the Woods with family members. He often spent his evenings watching and learning from educational television shows such as National Geographic or the History Channel.

Those who knew Kenny will remember him as a quiet, kind and gentle man who had an infectious smile and a cute sense of humour. He was very well liked by those who took the time to get to know him.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was predeceased by his siblings John Bell, Lois Coyle and Mary Lou Amos, as well as his nephew Wesley Coyle. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his niece Peggy Coyle Seaver (Chris) of Calgary and his nephew Ron Coyle. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Denis Amos as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

Peggy and Ron feel a deep sense of fulfillment and pride in providing the utmost care and love to Kenny these past five years. They would also like to thank Delores and Elvira from Home Instead Senior Care for their loving support, and Evelyn from Wolseley Wellness for her healing touch.

We take solace in knowing that he is now at peace and has left this world for a new and wonderful place where he will be joyously reunited with family members he has not seen in a long time. In this new and beautiful place, he will be free to laugh out loud, shout with joy and run freely without the constraints of his life here on earth.

Kenny enriched our lives and will always hold a special place in our hearts. In his honour, let us strive to be better and more compassionate people.

Interment will be held at a later date.

  • My sweet Uncle Kenny, I always treasure our little visits and walks in the park and sharing a cup of coffee at Polo Park. I enjoyed our time in nature going to Assiniboine Park and walking through the gardens, you always seemed happiest out in nature watching the deer and squirrels and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. I will miss your sweet little grin but I know you are happy and at peace surrounded by our lovely family. - Posted by: Fiona (Niece) on: Apr 12, 2025
