PETER ONOFREYCHUK

August 28, 1940 - April 18, 2025

With profound sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, Peter Onofreychuk.

He leaves to mourn his loving daughters, Jennifer Maes (Robert), Amanda Meads (Victor), and his loving son, Peter Onofreychuk Jr. (Lynne); grandchildren, Vincent, Erika, Keegan, and Aidan; great-grandchildren, Duncan and Freya; brother, Andrew (Maureen), and his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Aplonia (nee Eiers); brothers, George and Martin and sister, Edith Romanchuk.

Peter was born in Gimli and raised in Foley, Manitoba. He spent 37 years working for Loblaws Companies (Westfair Foods), starting out in grocery and working his way up to Assistant Divisional Manager, until his retirement in 2005.

Peter was a man whose heart knew no bounds when it came to his family. He lived his life with unwavering devotion to his children and grandchildren. Whether it was lending a helping hand or simply being present, he showed his love through his actions every single day. He was the kind of man who would do anything for his family and those he loved - no task too great, no sacrifice too small.

He will be dearly missed and forever cherished.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.

Memorial donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
