ERIC EDWIN ASKEW

March 1, 1936 - April 5, 2025

Although filled with mixed emotions, our family lovingly released our dear Dad to the heavens above to join our Mom Elaine who has been patiently awaiting his arrival since December 15, 2022.

His unwavering love will be missed by his daughters, Lynn (Steve) Hewitt and Karen (John) Gray; grandchildren, Lauren (Alex) Marshall and Dean Hewitt; great-grandchild Ellie Marshall; sister Miriam Cook and brother Jack (Jan) Askew; nieces, Nancy (Rob) Robinson and Lindsay (Justin) Lynn; great-nieces, Jessica Robinson and Ember Lynn along with other family members and many friends.

He is predeceased by his wife Elaine, parents, Edwin and Annie, in-laws Erwin, Elsie and Margaret, brother-in-law Fred and other family members.

A private interment of both Dad and Mom will be held in the Chatsworth Cemetery, Gilbert Plains, MB later this summer.

  • My deepest condolences Lynn and Karen. I remember the many memories camping at Falcon Lake. I have often reflected those times playing cards with your grandparents. Never easy times losing someone we love. I just know you ladies are creating your own now. - Posted by: Craig Gillon (Family friend) on: Apr 26, 2025

  • we met both Eric & Elaine at Stonewall Lions Manor when we moved in as tenants and being Lions Club members worked together in many different projects. We became very good friends and over time as they began having health issues we helped them the best we could to see that they where able to get help, they eventually moved to Ashern, Mb. to be closer to their daughter Karen. We kept in contact after they moved and Karen kept us informed of there welfare, they where very good friends and we will miss them. - Posted by: Ralph & Shirley Sinclair (Friends) on: Apr 26, 2025
