Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESIA MARY WHYTE
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother (granny) and great-grandma Lesia Whyte.
Mom will be deeply missed by daughters Kathy Brown (Neil), Chris Jawa (Mark), Carol Sawchuk (Wally), six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her brother Ronald (June), sister-in-law Lena, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom, you are our Sunshine, our only Sunshine.
The family would like to thank everyone at Holy Family Home of Winnipeg, especially the staff of 4A St Joseph’s unit, for the exceptional care mom received while a resident. The care and compassion was beyond anything we could have hoped.
Divine Liturgy and Panakhyda will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue, Winnipeg, with Fr Bohdan Lukie, CSsR, officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers denotations can be made to Holy Family Home of Winnipeg (165 Aberdeen Ave Winnipeg R2W 1T9), or the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba.

Dear Kathy, Chris, Carol and families. My mom and I are sorry to hear of your loss. As you know, your mom and dad and my parents were long time friends and enjoyed many times together. Unfortunately, with the untimely passing of your dad, it seems that the Canasta Club came to a premature end. I believe my mom did have several phone chats with your mom over the years, but sadly, they never did get together. Such is life. Once again, our sincere condolences to you and your families. Our sincerest condolences to your families. How we remember our travel times with your parents and the fun times we had over the years. Life has changed so very much for us too so we couldn't get together. May the good memories you had of your dear mother (and father) help ease your sorrow and give you strength to go on. - Posted by: John & Marlene Giesbrecht (friends) on: Apr 29, 2025
